Buyer
This position will oversee and manage designated accounts and serve as liaison between the vendor and facility as part of GEO s purchasing centralization. This position will also conduct implementations, contract compliance and develop KPI reporting for Regional Management to provide greater cost control.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as the main buyer for the Corporate Purchasing team.
Acts as advisor regarding purchasing items with local, regional and corporate department personnel on purchasing items and programs.
Provides purchasing expertise on purchasing programs and specific items as needed.
Evaluates bids and quotes regarding service and cost as needed.
Works on purchasing cost reductions, projects as well as individual items as directed by Purchasing Management.
Analyzes multiple item price proposals and other information to determine best practice pricing.
Interfaces with all levels of Company management to insure the purchasing function is fully supportive of all major programs.
Manages the implementation/deployment of national centralized accounts to all GEO facilities.
Sources new vendors for contracts that 500K annually, requests multiple bids, conducts contract negotiations in collaboration with Purchasing Management.
Creates and manages facility contracts database for management use and centralization when applicable.
Provides timely purchasing support acting as lead for purchasing initiatives including drafts of RFP s, ITN s, and RFQ s.
Develops and distributes to Management reports on savings tracking and reviews ways to increase savings for all facilities and divisions.
Provides guidance and training to other staff in the purchasing department.
Performs other duties as assigned.
