Sr. Staff Accountant

Digital Media Arts College has an immediate opening for an experienced staff accountant!
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for accounts payable and receivables as well as assisting with various financial functions including reporting, audit preparation, and journal entries. This position is also responsible for working with students and Student Finance Department to prepare student payment plans and manage student accounts in compliance with Title IV regulations. This position reports to the Director of Accounting and Finance.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the financial reporting and audit preparation in accordance with Federal regulations.
Responsible for monthly reconciliation of bank accounts and credit cards.
Assist the Director of Accounting and Finance with monthly closing including preparation of financial statement, journal entries to amortize prepaid expenses, recognize depreciation and other journal entries as required.
Responsible for student accounts including billing, payment processing, reporting and collections for active and non-active students.
Drawdown of federal funds from the US Department of Education using the G5 system.
Prepare requested payment plans according to student needs and tracking of signed payment plan agreements.
Prepare Direct Loan Monthly Reconciliation and explain difference, if any.
Submit accounts to collection agency in a timely basis as required.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with accounting regulations including Title IV funds.
Responsible for accounts payable including posting vendor invoices in QB, and processing payments on a weekly basis.

Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft windows, word, and outlook.
Demonstrated proficiency in excel.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of accounting experience required.
Experience with Title IV funding highly desirable.
Experience with Quick Books preferred.

Educational Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
