Summary:_ Provides metrics visibility and governance throughout the IT project and operations lifecycle, via review/audit of project and operating actual costs and comparison to budget and forecast. Insures alignment between project and operating portfolio budget, activities, and costs. Insures appropriate capitalizations are processed by monitoring project capital and operating expenses.
_Duties and
Responsibilities:_
Audit/Review IT project and operating capital requests, purchase orders, and invoices to ensure alignment with forecast and budget, and determine appropriate cost treatment prior to approval.
Audit/Review IT project manager financial workbooks on a regular basis from discovery through implementation, insuring that workbooks and time management system resources and activities agree and are compliant with IT project management guidelines.
Responsible for analysis of reporting of time management in PlanIT to ensure alignment with budget and forecast expectations, for project and operations.
Monitor time management system for missing/unapproved timesheets and contact the appropriate supervisors/resources for timely resolution.
Monitor discovery/pre-eCER (Capital Expenditure Request) approval project spend to minimize unfavorable P&L; impact and variances.
Monitor project status to insure timely close out/capitalization of project activity for internal and external labor resources.
Identifies notable project and operating variances and provides reporting to be communicated to project managers, and other leadership.
Reconcile fixed asset reporting to depreciation schedule to ensure accurate treatment.
Reconcile prepaid maintenance amortization schedule to ensure accurate treatment.
Assists in the development of business policies and performance measures.
Works with Governance team to enhance system and process to drive efficiency and compliance.
Other duties as required.
_Requirements:_
Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, and/or Information Technology
Experience: 2 - 5 years of prior related experience, preferably cost/activity based accounting or financial and/or IT project management
Skills : Strong communications and interpersonal skills, detail oriented, Microsoft Office/Excel, and project lifecycle management software.
