Summary:
Responsible for assisting patient in preparation of the physician's examination.
Performs all needed patient triage and assessment, education and follow up requested by the physician and maintains appropriate records.
Must be knowledgeable of insurance carriers, especially HMO.
Must be able to develop a kind and patient rapport with the physician's patients.
Provides all back office functions.
Maintains a steady and productive work pace.
Must be Bi-lingual-Spanish.
Performs triage and patient assessment.
Take patient vitals as needed.
Performs diagnostic and therapeutic measures as prescribed by the physician.
Assist in the performance of clinical office procedures.
Provides patient education as required.
Assists in the follow-up of patient test results and instructions for further follow-up.
Administers medication as prescribed by the physician's orders and maintains log on medications.
Scheduling and pre-certification as needed on tests ordered by the physician (CT, MRI, PET, etc.
) Maintains charts and dictation for assigned physician.
Take patient phone messages for the physician and follow-up calls to the patient as required.
Provides a safe and clean environment for the provision of patient care.
Performs tasks or responsibilities of the Lab and X-Ray (if certified) Technologist as needed.
Orders medical supplies.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience, Skills and Abilities:
Bi-lingual-Spanish highly desired Knowledgeable of Athena, CPT and ICD 10 codes helpful.
Excellent oral, written, organizational skills with ability to be flexible and deal effectively with staff, physicians and patients.
Must type efficiently and accurately utilizing a computer keyboard.
EMR Systems, 1 year of experience Personal Qualities:

Must demonstrate good judgment regarding confidentiality policy.

Education and/or Training:
High School diploma or equivalent.
2 years' experience in a medical setting with clinical or formal medical training in a trade school with a certificate preferred.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
